Cripple Creek Form-Based Code
Over the next couple of months the planning team will be meeting with the business owners and residents to collect input, discuss the key issues, and set forth the goals of the new planning code. The objective will be to create a code that results in a predictable build out of the entire community for the citizens and the investors. The new code will focus on preserving the historic character of the downtown, as highlighted in the Master Plan, while outlining the planning objectives for future building form (size, height and setback), land use, signage, parking, parks and streets.
The City and the Planning Team needs your input and involvement. Over the next few months there are going to be opportunities for you to voice your opinion on the policies that will direct the new code and give input on the look and form of the community in the future. The community is invited to a couple of public open-houses and a design workshop to develop ideas and to shape the outcome of the new planning code.
