City of Cripple Creek Current Job Openings

Reserve Recruit Firefighter-Part time, no benefits offered. Starting recruit salary $8.94 per hour increasing to $10.87 per hour after successful completion of probationary period. Cripple Creek Emergency Services is currently hiring Reserve Firefighter Recruits. Our department provides fire protection, EMS, and rescue to the City of Cripple Creek and the surrounding area, covering approximately 56 square miles. Minimum Requirements: must be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or GED and a Colorado Driver's License by time of appointment. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from all states in which a license has been held within the previous three years. No previous firefighting experience or certifications required. All required training and certifications will be provided during the recruit academy. Preference may be given to candidates that already possess National Registry, or Colorado EMT-B. Please submit an application with a resume, three professional references with contact numbers, and a current CPAT (Candidate Physical Agility Test) that is valid through the expected start date of November 30, 2016 but must be valid on the date of hire. CPAT certificate must be included with the application, and please also include any other certificates you have.

Laborer/Equipment Operator-Full time, full benefits. Salary range $27,164-$36,751 per year, DOE. The Public Works Department is now accepting applications for a Laborer/Equipment Operator. This position performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled manual labor in the construction and maintenance of roadways, water and sewer systems, drainage facilities, and other public facilities; drives trucks and operates equipment incidental to the work. Two years of related experience in equipment operation is preferred. Education requirement-high school graduate or equivalent. Possession of a Level 1 water distribution or equivalent or ability to obtain within 1 year. Must possess a valid Colorado Driver's License or the ability to obtain within 30 days of appointment. Must possess a valid Class B CDL or the ability to obtain one within 1 year. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check, and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held in the previous three years.

Custodian-Full time, full benefits. Salary range $20,270-$27,424 per year, DOE. Graveyard shift. Keeps premises of City-owned buildings in clean and orderly condition. Custodial experience preferred. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held in the previous three years, and have a valid Colorado Driver's License or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of appointment.

Driver/Facility/Program Assistant I-PT-Starting pay range $10.74 to $14.54/hour, DOE. No benefits offered. Parks and Recreation Department. The person in this position works a flexible schedule that alters weekly. This position will require several responsibilities with transporting participants, possible assistance with the licensed child-care program and implementing activity programs; possible receptionist duties and may substitute for other youth programs. Other duties may be assigned under the capacity of these programs. Requirements: must be at least 18 years old and possess a current certificate in First Aid and CPR or the ability to acquire within 60 days. The applicant for this position must possess a Colorado CDL with P2 endorsement or the ability to obtain one within 3 months and pass a thorough background check from the Colorado Bureau of Investigations and with TRAILS and a pre-employment drug test; must provide an acceptable driving record from any state in which a license has been held in the previous three years.

Transit Driver-Part-Time, no benefits offered. $10.74/hour (no CDL), $11.85/hour (CDL), DOE. Duties include transporting visitors and citizens to various locations throughout the City; also will be assisting the disabled as necessary. Colorado CDL C or higher with P1 endorsement required, preferred but will allow 3 months to obtain. High school diploma or GED required. Must be 21 years of age or older. Must pass a drug test and background check and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held within the previous 3 years.

Police Officer-Full-Time, full benefits. $40,134 to $54,298 yr.,, DOE. The Police Department is now accepting applications for a police officer. Patrols assigned beat on foot, or in a patrol car to control traffic, prevent crime or disturbance of peace, and arrest violators. Must be 21 years of age or older, have a valid Colorado driver's license, POST certified, be able to pass all physical and psychological exams, background checks, pre-employment drug test and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from all states in which a license has been held within the previous three years. Requires a high school diploma or GED. Please submit a completed City application, a completed Police Supplemental application and a copy of POST certification or a copy of your POST card issued by Colorado POST.
