City of Cripple Creek Current Job Openings

Sergeant-Full-time, full benefits. Salary $51,222 to $69,300 per year, DOE. The Police Department is now accepting applications for a Sergeant. 4 consecutive years of police work required. Police Patrol and/or Investigative supervisory experience preferred. Must be 211 years of age or older and be POST certified in Colorado. High School diploma or GED. Must have a valid Colorado driver's license and be able to pass all physical and psychological exams, background checks, provide an acceptable MVR and pass a pre-employment drug test.

Heavy Equipment Operator-Full time, full benefits.
$31,446 to $42,544 year, DOE. The Public Works Department is now accepting applications for the position of Heavy Equipment Operator. Must have a valid Class B Colorado Commercial Driver's License with air brakes and preferably a tanker. Two years related experience in equipment operation preferred. High school graduate or equivalent. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check, and provide an acceptable MVR.

Laborer/Equipment Operator-Full-time, full benefits.
$27,164-$36,751 per year. The Public Works Department is now accepting applications for the position of Laborer/Equipment Operator. Performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled manual labor in the construction and maintenance of roadways, water and sewer systems, drainage facilities, and other public facilities; drives trucks and operates equipment incidental to the work. Two years related experience in equipment operation preferred. High School graduate or equivalent. Possession of level 1 water distribution or equivalent or ability to obtain within 1 year. Must possess a valid Colorado Driver's License or the ability to obtain one within 30 days; must possess a valid Class B CDL or the ability to obtain one within one year. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check, and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record.

Wastewater Plant Intern-Full-time Temporary-
$10.74 an hour. Three months-no benefits. The Wastewater Department is now accepting applications for the position of WW Plant Intern. Performs water and wastewater plant and systems maintenance and assists in controlling treatment plant machines and equipment to purify and clarify water for human consumption and for industrial use. Also maintains and operates sewage treatment, sludge processing and disposal equipment in wastewater (sewage) treatment plant to control flow and processing of sewage. High School Junior or Senior in good standing. Must be at least 16 years old. Background check and pre-employment drug screen required.

Program Assistant I-Part-time, no benefits. Starting pay $10.23 an hour, DOE. Cripple Creek Parks and Recreation. This position will require several responsibilities with assisting licensed child-care program preparing, planning and implementing activity programs, possible receptionist duties, and may substitute for other youth programs. Other duties may be assigned under the capacity of these programs. Requirements: must be at least 16 years old, possession of a current certificate in First Aid and CPR or ability to acquire within 60 days; a thorough background investigation including TRAILS; and must pass a pre-employment drug test.

Shuttle Bus Driver-Part-time substitute, no benefits.
Starting pay $10.74 an hour, DOE. Duties include transporting visitors and citizens to various locations throughout the local area; also will be assisting the disabled as necessary. Special requirements are: a Colorado CDL, Class B with P2 endorsement and have one year of commercial driving experience preferred.  High school diploma or GED. Must be 21 years of age or older. Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check and provide an acceptable MVR. Nights and weekends required, flexible schedule.

Dispatcher-Full-time-$31,446 to $42,544 per yr., DOE. Full benefits. Cripple Creek Police Department. Job duties include: process emergent/nonemergent calls for Police, Fire, and EMS. Ability to: monitor and answer multi-channel radios; monitor additional frequencies for adjacent jurisdictions; maintain accurate and current awareness of the status and location of all personnel and equipment; operate computer terminals to enter, query, modify and/or delete data from NCIC/CCIC and CAD systems; maintain confidentiality; monitor building surveillance equipment; perform well in high stress situations; work within a team environment; assist with various clerical duties and assist the public. Shift work required for 24/7 emergency operations. Experience preferred. Must be 18 years or older, have a valid Colorado driver's license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days; pass a background check, polygraph, drug test, audiogram, computer skills test, and other job specific testing. Must provide an acceptable MVR. High school diploma or GED required. The Police Department Supplemental Application must also be filled out in order to apply.
