Current Job Opening
FIREFIGHTER – Reserve – Starting recruit salary $8.00 per hour changing to $10.00 per hour after successful completion of probationary period. No benefits. Cripple Creek Emergency Services is currently hiring Reserve Firefighter Recruits. Cripple Creek Emergency Services provides fire protection, EMS, and rescue to the City of Cripple Creek and the surrounding area, covering approximately 56 square miles. Minimum Requirements: At least 19 yrs. old and in good physical condition as required by the Department. Possess a high school diploma or GED and a Colorado Drivers License by time of appointment. No previous firefighting experience or certifications required. All minimum required training and certifications will be provided during the recruit academy. Testing will consist of written and oral board testing to tentatively take place in April 2010. The 2010 recruit academy will have approximately 10-15 reserve firefighter recruits and will tentatively begin in May 2010. Preference may be given to candidates that already possess National Registry, or Colorado EMT-B. Please submit an application with a resume, three professional references with contact numbers, a DMV record from the Motor Vehicle Department dated within 3 months from any state in which a license has been held within the past 3 years, proof of vehicle insurance, and a CPAT (Candidate Physical Agility Test) that is valid through the first day of employment. Facility Assistant II (Full –time, full benefit package) - Cripple Creek Parks and Recreation. Starting salary $9.60/hr. Tuesday-Saturday with some evenings required. This position will perform a variety of office, clerical and operational duties; Assist in the processes of planning, scheduling and conduction of recreational programs; Assists in the facility and grounds daily maintenance and for facility, equipment, and park rentals. This position requires an individual who enjoys working with children and has excellent public and customer relation skills. We are looking for a self-starter who needs little supervision. Experience in computers, program development, customer service, and recreational activities. Other duties may be assigned under the capacity of these programs. Requirements are: must be at least 21 years old, have a valid CO drivers license, possession of a current certificate in First Aid and CPR or ability to acquire within 30 days. Requires a pre-employment drug test and a thorough background investigation including TRAILS. Please submit a Motor Vehicle Record from the Department of Motor Vehicles dated within 3 months from any state you have held a license in within the past 3 years with your application. It will not be considered complete without one.

CUSTODIAN-Full time, full benefits, starting pay - $9.55 hr. The City of Cripple Creek is now accepting applications for a full time Custodian. Graveyard shift. Custodial experience preferred. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check, and have a valid Colorado drivers license within 30 days of appointment. A motor vehicle record from the Department of Motor Vehicles dated within the previous three months from any state in which a license has been held within the last three years must be submitted with the application for it to be considered complete.

POLICE OFFICER - Starting Salary $33,218yr. DOE. Full Time. Full benefit pkg. The City of Cripple Creek Police Department is now accepting applications for a police officer. Must be 21 years of age or older, have a valid Colorado driver’s license, POST certified, be able to pass all physical and psychological exams, background checks, and pre-employment drug test. Requires a high school diploma or GED. Please submit proof of POST certification, and also please submit a Motor Vehicle Record dated within six months from the Department of Motor Vehicles from every State you have held a license in for the last three years with your application.
