City of Cripple Creek Current Job Openings

Heritage Tourism Assistant-Part-Time Seasonal-$10.23 to $13.84 an hour, DOE. No benefits. The Heritage Tourism Department is now accepting applications for the position of Heritage Tourism Assistant. This position will work at the Heritage Center, Information Center, and Outlaws and Lawmen Jail Museum, and any additional City attractions as needed. Customer service experience preferred. Good communication skills are necessary for greeting visitors in person, by telephone and by e-mail. Computer skills including Microsoft Office preferred. Weekends and/or Holidays will be required. High school diploma or equivalent. Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid Colorado Driver's License, or be able to obtain one within 30 days of being hired. Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check and provide a valid motor vehicle record from any states in which a license has been held within the previous three years.

Theater Assistant-Part-Time Seasonal-Starting pay $10.23 an hour, DOE. No benefits. The Butte Theater is now accepting applications for the position of Theater Assistant. Responsibilities include: working the box office, house managing, light technical and cleaning tasks, and other duties as assigned. Excellent customer service skills and basic computer skills required. Must be willing to work weekends, nights, and some holidays. Must be 16 years of age or older. Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.

Waste Water Plant Intern-Full-Time Temporary-$10.74 an hour. Three months-no benefits. The Waste Water Department is now accepting applications for the position of WW Plant Intern. Performs water and wastewater plant and systems maintenance and assists in controlling treatment plant machines and equipment to purify and clarify water for human consumption and for industrial use. Also maintains and operates sewage treatment, sludge processing and disposal equipment in wastewater (sewage) treatment plant to control flow and processing of sewage. High School Junior or Senior in good standing. Must be at least 16 years old. Background check and pre-employment drug screen required.

Custodian-Part-Time Seasonal-$9.28-$12.56/hour, DOE. May-September, up to 29 hours per week. The Custodial Department is now accepting applications for a part-time seasonal Custodian. Graveyard shift. Custodial experience preferred. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check, provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held within the previous three years and have a valid Colorado driver's license within 30 days of appointment.

Program Assistant I-Part-Time-Starting pay $10.23/hour, no benefits. The Parks and Recreation Department is now accepting applications for a Program Assistant I. This position will require several responsibilities with assisting licensed child-care program preparing, planning and implementing activity programs, possible receptionist duties, and may substitute for other youth programs. Other duties may be assigned under the capacity of these programs. Requirements: must be at least 16 years old, possession of a current certificate in First Aid and CPR or ability to acquire within 60 days; a thorough background investigation including TRAILS; and must pass a pre-employment drug test.

Building and Maintenance Assistant-Part-Time Seasonal-$12.75/hour. June-August. The Building Department is currently seeking a Building and Maintenance Assistant. The duties include assisting the Building Department in many tasks to keep the City buildings and properties properly maintained and operational. Performs maintenance of public buildings, including carpentry, painting, and general maintenance of public buildings and installed equipment as assigned. Ability to operate both hand and power tools; any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and one year of experience in construction, and grounds and building maintenance. Additional skills and experience in the construction and grounds/building maintenance fields are desirable. Must possess a Colorado Driver's License or the ability to obtain one within thirty days. Flexible hours, including weekends, required. Must be at least 18 years old. Background check, pre-employment drug screen, and must provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held within the previous three years.

Driver/Facility/Program Assistant I-Part time, no benefits-$10.23-$13.84 an hour, DOE. The Parks and Recreation Department is now accepting applications for this position. Flexible schedule alters weekly. This position will require several responsibilities with transporting participants, possible assistance with the the licensed child-care program and implementing activity programs, possible receptionist duties, and may substitute for other youth programs. Requirements: must be at least 18 years of age or older, possession of a current certificate in First Aid and CPR or ability to acquire within 60 days. Position requires a CDL Colorado Driver's License with P2 endorsement, a thorough background investigation from CBI and with TRAILS. Applicant must pass a pre-employment drug test and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held for the previous three years.

Shuttle Driver-Part time, no benefits. $10.74 to $14.54 an hour, DOE. Duties include transporting visitors and citizens to various locations throughout the City; also will be assisting the disabled as necessary. Colorado CDL with P1 endorsement PREFERRED. High school diploma or GED required. Must be 21 years of age or older. Must pass a drug test and background check and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held within the previous 3 years.

Laborer/Equipment Operator-Full time, full benefits-$27,164 to $36,751 per year, DOE. The Public Works Department is now accepting applications for the position of Laborer/Equipment Operator. Performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled manual labor in the construction and maintenance of roadways, water and sewer systems, drainage facilities, and other public facilities; drives trucks and operates equipment incidental to the work. Two years related experience in equipment operation preferred. High school graduate or equivalent. Possession of level 1 water distribution or equivalent or ability to obtain within 1 year. Must possess a valid Colorado Driver's License or the ability to obtain one within 30 days; must possess a valid Class B CDL or the ability to obtain one within one year. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license was held within the previous 3 years.

Events Assistant-Part time, Seasonal, no benefits-$11.85 to $16.03 an hour, DOE. The Marketing and Events Department is now accepting applications for the position of Events Assistant. This position is responsible for assisting the Marketing and Events Director with all aspects of production and execution of special events for the City of Cripple Creek. This position will also help coordinate the City's involvement in other events produced and/or promoted by other private or public organizations. Excellent communication skills required. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Must be 21 years old. High School Diploma or GED required.
