City of Cripple Creek Current Job Openings

Events and Tourism Coordinator-Marketing and Events Department. Full time, full benefits. $33,018-$44,671 per year, DOE. The incumbent in this position will work with the Events and Marketing Director in promoting the City of Cripple Creek as a premier tourism destination through efforts that utilize tourism networking through a variety of mediums. The incumbent also assists the Director in all aspects with the planning and execution of all special events for the City. At least two years of college-level business related education or substantial experience in special events and tourism preferred. Must have excellent communication skills, written and oral; and a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Applicant must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check and be able to provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held within the previous three years.

Events and Marketing Assistant-PT-Marketing and Events Department. Part-time, no benefits. $11.85-$16.03 hour, DOE. The City is now accepting applications for the position of Events and Marketing Assistant. This position is responsible for assisting the Director with all aspects of production and execution of special events for the City. The incumbent will also assist the Director with the production and distribution of marketing pieces. Excellent communication skills required. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held within the previous three years.

Receptionist/Office Assistant-Building Department. Full time, full benefits. $25, 871-$35,001 a year, DOE. This position will perform clerical duties, provide public information, assist with record keeping tasks and provide administrative support for the Building Department. Construction/permit technician background preferred. Excellent communication skills, confidentiality, attention to detail, ability to multi-task and excellent organizational skills are a must. Word processing skills are required and Excel and PowerPoint are desired. Minimum one year of office administrative support experience preferred. High School diploma or GED required. Requires a valid Colorado driver's license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, and background check and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held within the previous 3 years.

Driver/Facility/Program Assistant I-PT-Cripple Creek Parks and Recreation. No benefits. Starting pay $10.74 to $14.54 an hour, DOE. Flexible schedule alters weekly. This position will require several responsibilities with transporting participants, possible assistance with the licensed child-care program and implementing activity programs, possible receptionist duties, and may substitute for other young programs. Other duties may be assigned under the capacity of these programs. Requirements: must be at least 18 years old, possession of a current certificate in First and and CPR or the ability to acquire within 60 days. Position requires a CDL Colorado License with P2 endorsement or ability to obtain within 3 months, a thorough background investigation including Colorado Bureau of Investigation and with Trails. Applicant must also pass a pre-employment drug test and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held in the previous 3 years.

Heritage Tourism Assistant-Part Time, no benefits. $10.23-$13.84, DOE. The Heritage Tourism Department is accepting applications for the position of Heritage Tourism Assistant. This position will work at the Heritage Center, Information Center, and Outlaws and Lawmen Jail Museum, and any additional city attractions as needed. Customer service experience preferred. Good communication skills are necessary for greeting visitors in person, by telephone and by e-mail. Computer skills including Microsoft Office preferred. Weekends and/or Holidays will be required. High school diploma or equivalent. Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid Colorado Driver's License, or be able to obtain one within 30 days of being hired. Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held for the previous 3 years.

Police Dispatcher-Full-Time-Starting salary $33,018 a year, DOE. Full benefits package. Job duties include: process emergent/non-emergent calls for Police, Fire, and EMS. Must be able to: monitor and answer multi-channel radios and monitor additional frequencies for adjacent jurisdictions; maintain accurate and current awareness of the status and location of all personnel and equipment; operate computer terminals to enter, query, modify and/or delete data from NCIC/CCIC and CAD systems; maintain confidentiality; monitor building surveillance equipment. Must also be able to perform well in high stress situations, work within a team environment, assist with various clerical duties and assist the public. Experience preferred, but not required. Must be 18 years or older, have a valid Colorado driver's license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days; pass a background check, polygraph, drug test, audiogram, computer skills test and other job specific testing. Must provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held within the previous three years. Please submit a City application and Police Supplemental application in order to be considered. Shift work required for 24/7 emergency operations.
