City of Cripple Creek Current Job Openings

Custodian-Full Time, full benefits. Starting salary is $19,305, DOE. The Custodial Department is now accepting applications for a full-time custodian. Graveyard shift. Custodial experience preferred. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check, provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held in the previous three years and must have a valid Colorado driver's license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of appointment. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of the eighth grade providing the ability to read and write.

Laborer/Equipment Operator-Full-Time, full benefits. Salary Range is $27,164 to $36,751 per year, DOE. The Public Works Department is now accepting applications for the the position of Laborer/Equipment Operator.This position performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled manual labor in the construction and maintenance of roadways, water and sewer systems, drainage facilities, and other public facilities; drives trucks and operates equipment incident to the work. Two years related experience in equipment operation preferred. High school graduate or equivalent. Possession of level 1 water distribution or equivalent or ability to obtain within 1 year. Must possess a valid Colorado Driver's License or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of appointment. Must possess a valid Class B CDL or the ability to obtain one within 1 year. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check, and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held within the previous three years.

Marketing and Events Manager-Full Time, full benefits. Salary Range is $46,460 to $62,857 DOE. This position will be responsible for supervising and directing all marketing efforts and related staff for the City. This position is also responsible for all aspects of producing and executing annual festival-type events for the City. The Manager will also have web content/internet marketing duties and responsibilities such as writing, editing and proofreading new content for City websites; working with developers to assess any technical challenges in displaying web content; and working with developers to improve and maintain City websites. Additionally, this position will perform various municipal obligations, including acting as the Public Information Officer. The Manager will exercise supervision over Marketing and Events staff to include full-time, seasonal and/or part-time employees and volunteers as necessary or as assigned. This position prefers at least two years of college-level business-related education, or substantial experience in developing and executing festival-type special events or a combination of both. Three or more years of office experience preferred. A certain degree of creativity and latitude, ability to graphically design basic marketing material and provide creative direction to others required. A working knowledge of MS Word, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Acrobat software is required. Working knowledge of the complete Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite is not required but appreciated. The applicant must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, a background check, and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a driver's license has been held within the previous three years.

Shuttle Driver-Part Time, no benefits. $10.74 to $14.54 an hour, DOE. Duties include transporting visitors and citizens to various locations throughout the City; also will be assisting the disabled as necessary. Colorado CDL with P1 endorsement required. High school diploma or GED required. Must be 21 years of age or older. Must pass a drug test and background check and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held within the previous 3 years.

Heavy Equipment Mechanic-Full Time, full benefits. $36,402 to $49,250 year, DOE. The Public Works Department is now accepting applications for the position of Heavy Equipment Mechanic. Performs a variety of skilled mechanical repair work to automotive and power equipment and manages a preventative maintenance program. Minimum of 2 years verifiable work experience in automotive mechanic work required. Two years as apprentice or vocational training can be substituted for the experience as a mechanic. Must have a valid Class B Colorado Commercial Driver's License or be able to obtain one within 30 days. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check, and provide an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record from any state in which a license was held within the last three years.

Heavy Equipment Operator-Full Time, full benefits. $31,446 to $42,544 a year, DOE. The Public Works Department is now accepting applications for the position of Heavy Equipment Operator. High school graduate or equivalent required. Two years related experience in equipment operation preferred. Must have a valid Class B Colorado Commercial Driver's License with air brakes and preferably with a Tanker. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check and provide an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record from any state in which a license was held within the last three years.

Heritage Tourism Assistant-Part time, no benefits. $10.23 to $13.84, DOE. The Heritage Tourism Department is accepting applications for the position of Heritage Tourism Assistant. This position will work at the Heritage Center, Information Center, and Outlaws and Lawmen Jail Museum, and any additional city attractions as needed. Customer service experience preferred. Good communication skills are necessary for greeting visitors in person, by telephone, and by e-mail. Computer skills including Microsoft Office preferred. Weekends and/or Holidays will be required. High school diploma or equivalent. Must be 18 years old and possess a valid Colorado Driver's License, or be able to obtain one within 30 days of being hired. Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held for th previous three years.

Police Dispatcher-Full-Time-Starting salary $31,446 a year, DOE. Full benefits package. Job duties include: process emergent/non-emergent calls for Police, Fire, and EMS. Must be able to: monitor and answer multi-channel radios and monitor additional frequencies for adjacent jurisdictions; maintain accurate and current awareness of the status and location of all personnel and equipment; operate computer terminals to enter, query, modify and/or delete data from NCIC/CCIC and CAD systems; maintain confidentiality; monitor building surveillance equipment. Must also be able to perform well in high stress situations, work within a team environment, assist with various clerical duties and assist the public. Experience preferred, but not required. Must be 18 years or older, have a valid Colorado driver's license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days; pass a background check, polygraph, drug test, audiogram, computer skills test and other job specific testing. Must provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held within the previous three years. Please submit a City application and Police Supplemental application in order to be considered. Shift work required for 24/7 emergency operations.

Driver/Facility/Program Assistant I-Part time, no benefits-$10.23-$13.84 an hour, DOE. The Parks and Recreation Department is now accepting applications for this position. Flexible schedule alters weekly. This position will require several responsibilities with transporting participants, possible assistance with the the licensed child-care program and implementing activity programs, possible receptionist duties, and may substitute for other youth programs. Requirements: must be at least 18 years of age or older, possession of a current certificate in First Aid and CPR or ability to acquire within 60 days. Position requires a CDL Colorado Driver's License with P2 endorsement, a thorough background investigation from CBI and with TRAILS. Applicant must pass a pre-employment drug test and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held for the previous three years.
