City of Cripple Creek Current Job Openings

Police Officer-Full Time, full benefits. Starting salary $38,223 a year, DOE. The Police Department is now accepting applications for a police officer. Patrols assigned beat on foot, or in patrol car to control traffic, prevent crime or disturbance of peace, and arrest violators. Must be 21 years of age or older, have a valid Colorado driver's license, POST certified, be able to pass all physical and psychological exams, background checks, pre-employment drug test and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from all states in which a license has been held within the previous three years. Requires a high school diploma or GED. Please submit a completed City application, a completed Police Supplemental application and a copy of POST certification or a copy of your POST card issued by Colorado POST.

Heritage Tourism Assistant-Part Time, no benefits. $10.23-$13.84, DOE. The Heritage Tourism Department is accepting applications for the position of Heritage Tourism Assistant. This position will work at the Heritage Center, Information Center, and Outlaws and Lawmen Jail Museum, and any additional city attractions as needed. Customer service experience preferred. Good communication skills are necessary for greeting visitors in person, by telephone and by e-mail. Computer skills including Microsoft Office preferred. Weekends and/or Holidays will be required. High school diploma or equivalent. Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid Colorado Driver's License, or be able to obtain one within 30 days of being hired. Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held for the previous 3 years.

Receptionist/Office Assistant-Part Time, no benefits.
Starting pay $11.85 an hour, DOE. 24 hours per week, weekdays. This position will perform clerical duties and assist with record keeping tasks and provide administrative support for the Public Works Department. Coordinates and communicates Public Works activities with other City departments, outside agencies, and the public. Prior office experience strongly preferred. Applicant must have excellent telephone and interpersonal skills for working with the public, as well as interdepartmental relationships. Applicant must be able to operate a personal computer, using the Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, and Word, along with other programs. Must be at least 18 years old, high school graduate or equivalent and have a valid Colorado Driver's License or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of appointment. Applicant must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held within the previous three years.

Custodian-Full Time, full benefits. Starting salary is $19,305, DOE. The Custodial Department is now accepting applications for a full-time custodian. Graveyard shift. Will require weekend work also. Custodial experience preferred. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check, provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held in the previous three years and must have a valid Colorado driver's license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of appointment. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of the eighth grade providing the ability to read and write.

Shuttle Driver-Part Time, no benefits. $10.74 to $14.54 an hour, DOE. Duties include transporting visitors and citizens to various locations throughout the City; also will be assisting the disabled as necessary. Colorado CDL with P1 endorsement required. High school diploma or GED required. Must be 21 years of age or older. Must pass a drug test and background check and provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held within the previous 3 years.

Police Dispatcher-Full-Time-Starting salary $31,446 a year, DOE. Full benefits package. Job duties include: process emergent/non-emergent calls for Police, Fire, and EMS. Must be able to: monitor and answer multi-channel radios and monitor additional frequencies for adjacent jurisdictions; maintain accurate and current awareness of the status and location of all personnel and equipment; operate computer terminals to enter, query, modify and/or delete data from NCIC/CCIC and CAD systems; maintain confidentiality; monitor building surveillance equipment. Must also be able to perform well in high stress situations, work within a team environment, assist with various clerical duties and assist the public. Experience preferred, but not required. Must be 18 years or older, have a valid Colorado driver's license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days; pass a background check, polygraph, drug test, audiogram, computer skills test and other job specific testing. Must provide an acceptable motor vehicle record from any state in which a license has been held within the previous three years. Please submit a City application and Police Supplemental application in order to be considered. Shift work required for 24/7 emergency operations.
